Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic to Open Incheon Guwol Branch on July 20

Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic (끗한의원), a cosmetic Korean-medicine chain, will open a branch in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, on Monday, July 20. The Incheon Guwol clinic will be headed by director Lee Seung-hyun.

Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic combines cosmetic treatment with Korean medicine, the country's traditional system of herbal and acupuncture-based care, under a brand slogan built on the idea that beauty comes down to a narrow margin of difference. The chain has opened branches in major commercial districts in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Guro, Konkuk University, Hongdae, Suwon and Beomgye in Anyang, as well as in the metropolitan cities of Busan, Daegu and Gwangju. The Guwol branch follows the clinic's Bupyeong location and is its second site in Incheon.

The Guwol-dong area is the main commercial district of Namdong-gu, next to Incheon City Hall and the Incheon Culture and Arts Center. Foot traffic is heavy around Incheon City Hall Station, Arts Center Station and the Guwol Rodeo shopping street, and the area is close to the residential districts of Ganseok-dong, Mansu-dong and Nonhyeon-dong.

For diagnosis, the clinic uses the JANUS Pro, a skin analysis device that uses standard, ultraviolet and polarised imaging to assess pigmentation below the skin surface, pores, oil and moisture balance, and sensitivity. The Incheon Guwol branch draws up individual treatment plans based on the JANUS Pro results.

For lifting procedures, the clinic has three devices: Shurink Universe, InMode and Volnewmer. Shurink Universe uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), InMode uses radiofrequency (RF) energy and Volnewmer uses monopolar radiofrequency, and each reaches a different depth of skin. The clinic said it installed devices with different energy sources so that treatment can be matched to the area of concern and skin condition, such as a double chin, nasolabial folds or loss of firmness.

For hair removal, the clinic uses the Apogee Plus, a laser device that supports two wavelengths, alexandrite at 755nm and Nd:YAG at 1064nm. The wavelength can be varied according to skin type and hair thickness, allowing treatment of areas including the underarms, arms and legs, and the upper lip.

The branch's Korean-medicine weight-loss programme has three components: analysis of the patient's constitution, changes to daily habits, and individually prescribed herbal medicine. Rather than weight loss alone, the programme starts by identifying the constitutional causes of weight gain, and also covers recovery after procedures and skin regeneration care.

"Guwol-dong is Incheon's administrative and commercial centre, and people of all ages pass through it, from young office workers to residents of the nearby housing districts," said Lee Seung-hyun, director of the Incheon Guwol branch. "So we focused on creating a place where patients can go through detailed diagnosis, treatment and Korean-medicine care in one location."

Lee added: "By offering skin care using advanced equipment together with constitutional improvement through Korean-medicine weight management, we will pursue a beauty that differs at the root, by that one small margin."
