Guru ENT (구루이엔티), a company that develops technology for restoring forests and degraded land, said on October 9 that it had exhibited its smart forest restoration system at BOUNCE 2026, held October 7-8 at Exhibition Hall 1 of BEXCO in Busan, and discussed possible cooperation on overseas ecological restoration projects with representatives of Indian and Nigerian companies. The company is led by chief executive Shim Jae-yong.
Guru ENT ran its booth as a participant in the early-stage startup package programme of the Busan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, a government-backed startup support body. The display covered the full restoration process, from development of restoration materials to mechanised application, drone spraying and on-site safety management. PELOTE, a functional restoration material developed in-house by Guru ENT, is used together with the company's G-PAD mechanised application equipment, which reduces the need for workers to enter hazardous slopes.
The company exchanged views with an India-based agricultural technology (AgTech) firm on an integrated restoration model combining smart irrigation, soil environment management, permaculture and growth monitoring. With a Nigerian company, it discussed applying PELOTE along with drone and mechanised application technology to restoring areas in Nigeria damaged by landslides.
Guru ENT said it plans to work with the overseas partners to define joint field demonstrations and business models, and will also examine linking the work to international development cooperation projects such as those run by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
"We confirmed that restoration technology developed in Korea can be applied to a range of degraded-land problems abroad," Shim said. "Through cooperation with local partners, we plan to expand step by step into field demonstrations and international development cooperation projects."
Guru ENT develops restoration technology for forests and degraded land. It has registered its PELOTE material and G-PAD mechanised method with the Technology Market for small and medium-sized enterprises, a public technology trading platform, and has applied them at forest and forest-road sites in Pyeongchang and Hoengseong.
